Fine Furniture Sales Representative - Part Time + Commission 

15-20hrs/week $35-40/hr + 15% sales commission on net collected furniture sales

  • Commission paid after customer payment is received

  • Commission not earned on sales tax, refunds, or separately charged delivery/installation

  • Commission applies to sales generated by the representative

Location: Los Angeles (Hybrid in-person / remote)

KEITA is a small Los Angeles-based furniture design and fabrication studio looking for a motivated, personable, and organized Fine Furniture Sales Representative to help grow a network of clients, interior designers, architects, galleries, showrooms, and trade partners.

This is a relationship-driven sales role for someone who enjoys meeting people, initiating conversations, and building lasting professional relationships. We’re looking for someone who is self-directed, outgoing, and comfortable creating sales opportunities through outreach and follow-up. The ideal candidate has a strong appreciation for design, craftsmanship, and quality, and is excited to represent a small studio creating distinctive, one-of-a-kind furniture. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to speak confidently with both design professionals and private clients. This role requires someone who can manage multiple leads and relationships, stay organized, follow through consistently, and remain persistent through longer sales cycles. 

The role will focus on developing new business, building relationships within the design community, generating sales of existing pieces, and initiating custom furniture projects. An interest in KEITA’s design philosophy and commitment to locally made, sustainable furniture is important.

What You'll Do

You’ll develop sales opportunities and build relationships with interior designers, architects, design firms, galleries, showrooms, collectors, and private clients. This includes cold outreach, attending design events and industry gatherings, introducing KEITA to potential trade partners, and maintaining relationships through consistent communication and follow-up. You’ll guide clients through product selection, pricing, and purchasing, while identifying opportunities for custom furniture comissions. You’ll work closely with KEITA’s design and fabrication team to communicate client needs, coordinate pricing and timelines, and support communications from initial inquiry through sale and delivery. You’ll also maintain organized records, and coordinate with shop management on product availability, orders, and delivery or installation.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to speak confidently with both design professionals and private clients. The right person for this position has a strong appreciation for design, aesthetics, craftsmanship, and quality, and is able to communicate the value of thoughtfully made, one-of-a-kind furniture.

 

Preferred / Bonus Experience

  • Experience in high-end furniture, interior design, architecture, art, luxury goods, or a related field

  • Experience in relationship-based sales, business development, cold outreach, or account management

  • Familiarity with selling through interior designers and other trade channels

  • Experience with custom furniture, furniture specification, or design projects

  • Existing relationships within the Los Angeles design, architecture, furniture, art, or luxury residential community

  • An established network of interior designers, architects, design firms, galleries, or showrooms

  • Familiarity with CRM systems, sales tracking, or other organizational tools

What Success Looks Like

Success means expanding KEITA’s network, and creating new opportunitues for the studio by building lasting relationships, generating qualified sales opportunities, and converting those opportunities into furniture sales and projects.
