Who We are

KEITA is a Los Angeles based furniture studio rooted in material, process, and place. We work primarily with salvaged hardwoods. These are trees that have fallen naturally, or been removed from the urban landscape. We collect, transform, and refine them into exquisite pieces designed to last for generations. Each project begins at the source. From there, the history of the material informs the final outcome.

Our practice sits at the intersection of design and fabrication. By keeping these disciplines closely connected, we’re able to explore ideas in real time, and respond directly to the wood, the tools, and the realities of making. Knots, grain movement, checks, and growth patterns are treated not as flaws, but as collaborators. They guide decisions about proportion, joinery, and structure, resulting in furniture that reflects both intention and natural history.

We draw from a range of techniques, combining digital tools with hands-on craftsmanship. CNC milling, templating, and precision machine work alongside traditional joinery and finishing methods. Furniture, for us, is a testing ground: functional, structural, and deeply human. Using this mentality, we explore new materials and processes while maintaining strength, longevity, and usability.

Collaboration is central to our work. We partner with local makers, fabricators, and creatives, tapping into Los Angeles’s deep, multi-generational culture of innovation and making. By sourcing materials locally and working within our community, we aim to support a more thoughtful and resilient design ecosystem.

At KEITA, sustainable design, local craftsmanship, and collaboration are essential to shaping a more beautiful future for you and for the planet.
