This design takes its cue from a natural split in one of the branches of the live oak tree we harvested, resulting in the distinctive two-pronged silhouette. Each table features a slightly different shape, carefully adapted to the original contours of the wood. Using digital templates and CNC technology from Obsydian Studios, we refined the oak pieces while preserving their natural character. The result is a set of tables that can be arranged together as a cohesive centerpiece or displayed individually throughout a room.

To honor the story of the tree, we retained the organic underside of each slab, which had been air-drying since its harvest. Rather than flattening the bottoms, we hand-shaped and mortised the leg blanks directly into the wood, a similar technique to what we used on our five legged table. The legs themselves are crafted from laminated offcuts, resulting in striking grain transitions that reflect the layered history of the material. Each table is a celebration of form, function, and the natural beauty of California Live Oak.
