Our team designed this set of stools to showcase the magnificent grain, and the extreme warp in this Eucalyptus slab that occurred during unrestrained air drying. Instead of forcing it into flatness by ripping, milling and jointing, we celebrated its uniqueness and let its beauty emerge. We think this piece, which consists of five individually shaped stools, is truly special and are thrilled with the results of our exploration. The tree that gave us this piece fell naturally one day with a big crack and a boom near Johnson Lake in Pasadena. We’re so glad we heard the fall and seized the opportunity to mill it on site and add it to our collection.
